Malta Financial Services Authority

MFSA is the only financial services regulatory agency in Malta. It was established on July 23, 2002 to take over foreign exchange regulatory rights from the Central Bank of Malta, the Malta Stock Exchange and the Malta Financial Services Center. MFSA is a fully self-contained and independent institution that reports to the Parliament once a year. The financial services sector includes all financial activities, including related credit institutions, financial and electronic money institutions, securities and investment service companies, standardized markets, insurance companies, pension plans, and trustees.
