The AIM-listed group said on Thursday that its antenna division had received the order from a system house for the manufacture of military antennas, which will be delivered within 12 months.

Chief executive Moni Borovitz said: "We are seeing more local system houses outsourcing their antenna manufacturing and we are very happy to accommodate this demand. This is the second customer where we have been chosen as the manufacturer for the customer's existing product.

"In this case the order is from a new customer that chose MTI to be the manufacturing partner for these antennas and we believe that this is the start of a long-term relationship, which has the potential to be extended to other types of antennas."

As of 1020 BST, MTI Wireless shares were up 3.84% at 52.44p.
